Breaking fresh ground: Materials Research across Helmholtz

The annual workshop of the Joint Lab on Model and Data-driven Materials Characterisation (MDMC) took place in Hamburg, bringing together researchers from Forschungszentrum Jülich, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon at Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY.

With talks and posters covering Accelerated Materials Discovery, Instrument Control, Real-time Data Analysis and Correlative Workflows, the workshop provided an excellent platform for scientific exchange across disciplines, methods and research centres.

Beyond the scientific program, we discussed the future of the Joint Lab and how to continue and strengthen our collaboration in the years ahead — contributing to a more connected and powerful Materials Research landscape across the Helmholtz Association.
